| Gettysburg Report After our investigation at the Bolton Mansion we checked into a hotel close to Gettysburg for some much needed rest. We made our way into the town of Gettysburg around 11:30 a.m. and went to Little Round Top, a very important landmark from the battle of Gettysburg. You could instantly feel a sense of dread and anticipation. As we made our way to the different monuments the hill was swarming with tourists, so we knew that doing evp work was out of the question, We then went to Devil's den, yet another important area during the battle. The mountain of rocks that formed Devil's den was enormous and I was awestruck. But just like Little Round Top, the den was crowded so we just snapped away with our camera's and planned to return early the next morning around 6 a.m. Before leaving to return to the hotel we also checked out the other side of the battlefield where Robert E. Lee and his troops began their assault on the Federal troops. Getting late, we decided to find Sach's bridge where supposedly 3 soldiers were hung or shot for treason. Just as we thought we were going to have a quiet night the bridge began to fill up with other paranormal groups and tourists just hoping to spot a ghost. We did manage to take some good photo's and get some evp's before it got too busy. The next morning as planned we headed out at 6 a.m. We arrived first at the National Cemetery. It was a chilly morning but we were finally alone and it was time to get down to business. We broke out the equipment and began recording evp's. As we stood there gazing at the graves marked "Unknown" it was really an emotional time thinking to myself "their poor families". The feeling of sadness filled the air as a gang of crows descended upon the graveyard and began almost chanting. It has been said that when we die crows carry away our spirits. After leaving the cemetery we made our way back to the museum, the museum was filled with historic relics from those fateful 3 days of the largest land battle in U.S. history. We then left the museum and headed out to Devil's Den and realized we were totally alone. I was out of the car before it stopped, anxious to get started before the morning crowd began to form. We quickly positioned ourselves to cover as much ground as possible. I made my way into the different caverns while Rick made his way to the Triangular field to start on some evp work. The ladies made their way just up on the hill atop Devil's Den. After about a half an hour I made my way out of the caverns and went to find the others. I met up with Jeni and Nancy coming down the hill. I went into the Triangular field to search for Rick who met me on my way down as he was returning up the hill. Still pretty early in the morning, we wanted to cover as much ground as possible so we headed out to the Robert E. Lee memorial and began taking pictures and evp's. We finally made our way to the infamous copse of trees where hundred's of confederate soldiers lost their lives trying to cross the rock wall but being stopped in their tracks. I made my way out towards the middle of the field as we all once again positioned ourselves in various spots. While out in the field I came across a lone tombstone in which I am still trying to find out just who was laid to rest there. The lone tombstone was surrounded by tall grass that held within it huge boulders. Unmarked graves? Also while out in the field I heard the sounds of cannons being fired at least 6-7 times which is weird because Jeni and I were the only ones to hear it, Rick and Nancy never heard them. Even later, after going through the evp's, I was stunned to not hear the cannon fire at all. It is reported that cannon fire is one of the residual hauntings that witnesses claim to have heard while in the field. After 3 long days in Pennsylvania, it was starting to get late and time to head home to review all the evidence we had collected. We got some very good evp's One in particular that frightened even me was caught at Devil's Den where we picked up a voice saying "I'm gonna kill his a$%" well.....you know. Another very good one we picked up was when I was heading up to the Trail to meet Rick at the top of the Triangular field. I had my voice recorder in my pocket, connected to a boom mic and headphones. While making my way up the trail the recorder suddenly jerked out of my pocket throwing me off balance and I began to fall, luckily catching myself. During all this commotion I picked up a voice stating "watch out". We are still finding new evp's. While out at the lone tombstone I had asked a question "is your body still buried here?" and got a reply of a name that I can't quite make out yet and a "yes" As far as the C.O.P.R.G. is concerned, Gettysburg is as they say one of the most haunted if not the most haunted place in America. We are planning to return to Gettysburg in early May of next year in hopes of checking out the Baladerry Inn as well as some of the other haunted locations there. Happy Haunting |
